About Us

At Home-Ed Inspection Services, we do more than just inspect homeswe educate and empower homeowners.

Our approach is simple: Inspect. Educate. Empower.

We believe knowledge is the most valuable part of any inspection. That’s why we take the time to explain how your home’s systems function, point out areas of concern, and clarify what’s important — all in a way that’s easy to understand. No technical jargon, just honest insights.

Our mission is to bring clarity and confidence to every inspection so our clients can make informed real estate decisions.

Whether you’re purchasing your first home, selling a property, or managing investments, we ensure you leave the inspection understanding — not just owning it.

Why Our Educational Approach Matters

Most inspections end with a report — ours end with understanding.

We believe that empowering homeowners begins with education, which is why we structure every inspection around three core principles:

Inspect

We conduct thorough, detail-driven evaluations of your home’s systems and structure to identify safety concerns, deficiencies, and maintenance needs with clarity and precision.

Educate

We take time to explain what we find, why it matters, and how each system functions — turning technical findings into clear, actionable understanding.

Empower

We equip you with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions, prioritize maintenance, and protect your home for years to come.

At Home-Ed, our goal isn’t just to deliver a report — it’s to help you gain the knowledge to live confidently and maintain wisely.

Meet Your Inspector

Hi, I’m Drew Kelley - Founder of Home-Ed Inspection Services LLC

At Home-Ed Inspection Services, my mission is simple — to educate and empower homeowners at every stage of ownership.

I grew up in the construction and remodeling industry, where I developed a deep respect for craftsmanship, structure, and the details that make a home stand the test of time. Over the years, my wife and I have been active in real estate investing — from buy-and-hold strategies to flips and multi-family properties — experiences that strengthened my understanding of property maintenance, building systems, and long-term value.

Before founding Home-Ed, I spent nearly a decade in the health and safety field, inspecting and auditing worksites. That background honed my attention to detail and risk prevention mindset, both of which now define my approach to home inspection.

Today, I bring that same safety-first focus and analytical eye to every inspection — providing not just a report, but real insight into the condition, safety, and performance of your home.

As an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector (CPI), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and FAA-Licensed Drone Pilot, I approach each inspection with a commitment to clarity, integrity, and education. My goal is to ensure every client walks away with confidence, understanding, and the tools to make informed decisions about their property.

Whether it’s your first home, forever home, or next investment, I’m here to guide you through it with honesty, transparency, and a dedication to your peace of mind.

What Customers Are Saying

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a home inspection and why do I need one?

A home inspection is a thorough, visual evaluation of the major systems and components of a home. It helps identify safety concerns, needed repairs, or future maintenance items so you can make an informed decision before buying, selling, or maintaining a property.

Are there things a home inspector does not inspect?

Yes. A standard home inspection is a visual, non-invasive assessment. We do not move furniture, open walls, or perform destructive testing. Specialized services like sewer scopes, radon testing, or environmental hazard testing are not included unless specifically added to your inspection.

Do I need to be present during the inspection?

It’s not required, but we strongly encourage it! Being there allows you to see the home through the eyes of an inspector, ask questions, and get maintenance tips. If you can’t attend, you’ll still receive a detailed written report with photos.

Will I get a written report, and how soon after the inspection?

Yes! You’ll receive a detailed, easy-to-read digital report with photos and explanations. Most reports are delivered the same day or within 24 hours of your inspection.

Can a home inspection “pass” or “fail” a house?

No. A home inspection is not a test that a home passes or fails. Instead, it provides objective information about the current condition of the property. The report helps you understand what’s normal maintenance, what needs repair, and what may be a safety concern.

What should I do if the inspection finds problems?

Almost every home has issues — even new ones. The inspection gives you knowledge to decide what’s acceptable and what needs negotiation or repair. You can use the report to request repairs, adjust your offer, or simply plan for future maintenance.

Why should I get a home inspection?

For sellers, it allows you to get out in front of any potential issues, which can help prevent contracts getting canceled at the last minute.

For buyers, a home inspection will identify concerns and red flags and can give you peace of mind before purchasing a home.
